Room was comfortably full. Revelation of the night was Phil Lucas

Paul Ricketts

Liam Pickford

A great compere. He bounced around the stage as a ball of energy and a larger-than-life host. Not that I like doing comparisons, but he was like a ‘northern’ Al Murray. With his bon homie and great charm, the audience couldn’t help but melt in Liam Pickford’s hands and laugh out loud for good measure.

Jared Shooter

Phil Lucas

At the end of Phil’s tour de force, the compere came on stage and announced “sometimes it is a honour to see a great act and I have just seen one” and the audience cheered in agreement. Phil Lucis just tore the roof off the place with his multi-media act. Using images projected onto the screen, Phil had the audience screaming with laughter. We saw 10 minutes of Phil’s obsession with Kate Garraway and his bizarre twitter conversation with spiritualist medium Derek Acorah. I’m laughing now just thinking of it all. Brilliant and original

John Gordillo

John did 55 minutes of new material. Some hit the spot, some didn’t. But even when his material missed, it was so thoughtful that you couldn’t help but think “yes, that’s a good point he’s made”.
